This was the day I was worried would be too much for everyone. I had things planned back to back and fully intended to skip one or two sights. I thought the kids would be so tired. We did not skip a thing because they wanted to do all of it. We may have given a few piggy back rides but they did amazing. Today we began the Golden Circle Tour.

Let's talk about the breakfast at Kvosin Hotel first. It was exceptional. Cod liver oil was served at all our hotels for breakfast and has so many health benefits. Rye bread was served, along with meats, cheeses, pastries, and hot breakfast items. Perfect to fill our belly's for the big day.

Thingvellar National Park - It sits between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. It rained and poured but was still beautiful. We walked down to the water fall and took in all the beauty.

Strokur Geyser - After tailgating with some car made PB and J's, we headed for the Geyser. This was the boys favorite. They were able to see a few eruptions and other small geysers bubbling.

Gullfoss - Everyone was a bit tired here but we walked down to see the falls and had a nice snack, juice boxes, and beers at the cafe'

Fridheimar Tomato Farm - Do not skip this one. It's 100% worth it. You can pet the horses at the farm. Inside the greenhouse between all the tomato trees is where the restaurant is located. It's such an amazing experience eating here. Some of the freshest food I've ever had. It has a basil plant on each table with a scissors for cutting for additional flavor. The tomato soup is famous and rightfully so. They offer an all you can eat buffet with the Tomato soup and freshly baked bread. I'm drooling sitting here thinking about it. They also have an amazing Heirloom tomato salad, skewers, tomato beer, pasta, pizzas, and even tomato ice cream. Like I said, don't miss this but make a reservation.

Kerid Crater - It's hard to not spend a lot of time here because every view is breathtaking from every level. The first time I went to Iceland I chose to skip this. The kids were loving this and did great walking the steps. Especially for this being the last stop of a busy day.

Now we were off to our next hotel, Laekur Hotel. Another amazing stay. All of the hotels were amazing in their own way but here we had a small cabin in a green pasture amongst the sheep. It was peaceful and relaxing and beautiful. Great place to have a coffee in the morning out on the private deck while taking it all in. Another perfect day.
